How to give it

Four drops in the water bowl
Or rub a drop into the fur behind the ears. Four drops is the dose for every animal, so there is nothing to work out by weight.

Two to four times a day
Top up the bowl as you refill it. Two formulas can be given together if your animal needs both.

Start ahead of a known trigger
For fireworks, a move or a vet visit, begin two or three days before rather than on the day.
There is nothing to overdose on and nothing to taper off. Essences are gentle enough to give alongside food, medication and other formulas. They support emotional balance and are not a substitute for veterinary care. If your animal is unwell, please speak to your vet.
What to expect
Flower essences work gradually. Knowing roughly when to judge the result is the difference between giving a formula a fair trial and giving up on the third day.
- Days 1 to 3
Start and carry on as normal
Add the drops to the water bowl and change nothing else. Some owners notice something early, usually around one specific trigger. Many notice nothing yet, and that is normal.
- Week 1 to 2
The wondering stage
This is where most people ask whether it is doing anything. Keep the dosing steady rather than increasing it. With essences, consistency matters more than quantity.
- Week 3 to 4
Give it until here before you judge it
If nothing has shifted at all by now, a different formula is probably the better fit. Tell us what you are seeing and we will help you choose. That is a better outcome than persevering with the wrong one.
- Around week 7
The bottle runs low
A 1 fl oz bottle given two to four times a day is usually close to empty. This is where most people reorder, and where a subscription saves remembering.
Every animal is different, and none of this is a promise. It is a guide to when to make up your mind. Essences support emotional balance alongside good food, routine and training. They are not a substitute for veterinary care: if something is wrong, please speak to your vet.
For the spot that has been licked from pink to raw. Skin Irritation is for the animal caught in the loop, where the itch drives the licking and the licking makes it worse.
A raw or spreading patch can become infected fast and is worth having looked at.

An essence is not the plant. Some of these blossoms are ones you have rightly been told to keep away from your animal. That warning is about the plant itself, and the plant is not what goes in the bottle. A flower essence carries no plant material, no oil and no extract, which is why the same four drops are safe for dogs, cats, horses and more.
The base
The flower essences are carried in water and preserved with a small amount of brandy, about 20%. There is no fragrance, no herbs and no active pharmaceutical ingredients in the bottle.
If the alcohol is a problem
Some households would rather avoid it, and that is easily done. Leave the cap off the bottle for a short period and the brandy evaporates away. The trade-off is shelf life: once the preservative has gone the formula keeps for a few months rather than years, so store it somewhere cool and dark and use it up within that time.

Shipping
We ship every day. Orders placed before 1pm Mountain Time go out the same day, and anything later goes out the next day. You will get a tracking number by email when the parcel leaves us.
Standard shipping is free to US addresses and takes 3 to 5 business days once it ships. Orders over $80 upgrade to free Priority, 2 to 4 business days. Canada is $18 and most other countries are $25, calculated at checkout. Delivery times are carrier estimates, not guarantees.
Returns
You have 60 days from the day it arrives. If a formula turns out not to be right for your animal, email help@petessences.com for a return authorization number, then send it back unused and in its original packaging. We issue store credit for the amount you paid for the product, not counting shipping, and it is applied to your next order. Return postage is yours to cover.
If something arrives broken, or we sent the wrong thing, that one is on us. Send a photo and your order number and we will make it right.
Before you send anything back, it is worth writing to us anyway. Most of the time the answer is a different formula rather than no formula, and that conversation costs you nothing.
